Johannesen har en bachelorgrad fra Camberwell College of Arts i London og har deltatt i flere festivaler, utstillinger og performancer, både solo og i samarbeid, i Europa, USA og Asia. 

Anette, som jobber fra Bergen i Norge, er i dag kunstnerisk leder for Performance Art Bergen og er en av arrangørene av offentlige performancer i Bergen og området rundt byen, kalt "Open Sessions." Kjernen i Anette Friedrich Johannesens kunstneriske praksis er en utforskning av sanseopplevelse, gjentakelse, minimale bevegelser og stedsidentitet. Hun arbeider med å utvikle en strategi for hvordan mennesker kan og bør samhandle med naturen, basert på vitenskapelige metoder, lokal kunnskap og naturens innvirkning på vår identitet.

Anette Friedrich Johannessen is an interdisciplinary artist who works with performance, video, drawing and text-based work. She has a bachelor's degree from Camberwell College of Arts in London and has participated in several festivals, exhibitions and performances, both solo and in collaboration, in Europe, the USA and Asia. Anette, who works from Bergen in Norway, is currently the artistic director of Performance Art Bergen and is one of the organizers of public performances in Bergen and the area around the city, called "Open Sessions." The core of Anette Friedrich Johannesen's artistic practice is an exploration of sensory experience, repetition, minimal movements and place identity. She works on developing a strategy for how people can and should interact with nature, based on scientific methods, local knowledge and nature's impact on our identity.
